I highly doubt that the pleco in question is a Chiloglanis species. Those are 
quite rare in the hobby and thus quite pricey. The store I work at part time 
is quite large (300+ tanks) and gets in rarities quite often. hey have so far 
only been able to get in Chiloglanis cats once. Even then (2 years ago) they 
only could get 4 - selling price was close to $20 each. I grabbed 2 
immediately as I'm into oddball small cats. According to the 
books,Chiloglanis are rather touchy in captivity and most don't make it.
If the price paid was only a couple of bucks,it was one of the common plecos.
