I have never been able to get Outlook to display message threads properly.
The "group by conversation" just doesn't cut it for me - all I
want is a simple threaded message display but it doesn't seem to be there.

At work we use Outlook for scheduling meetings and in a fairly large
company which has lots of meetings and meeting rooms it does a very good
job of helping to pick a time and room which works for all the attendees.
