          Yes, I think that's a good point.  When people are busy they're
less aware of the passage of time.  The idea is *not* to avoid the
mental/emotional processing necessary for healing, though, but to engage in
a related activity. Dramatic & performing arts can draw upon all one's
life experiences, emotional depth, understanding of human nature, etc. 
Helping others who are affected by the condition which caused illness,
disability and/or death of the beloved can also draw on the same resources.
 Reorganizing the kitchen cupboards & working overtime at the office
don't count.  Typically, people do such things alone... occupying the left
hemisphere of the brain (in which feelings are more or less irrelevant). 
But the issues won't go away quietly if they're ignored....  :-)
