No delays across the network here, but I run my own DNS servers, so even
my LAN addresses have forward and reverse records.

I just connected to your system, and on the first try there was a few
seconds delay but subsequent attempts there was little to none (the
reverse DNS entry for my system was cached).

Unless you want to run a local DNS server, you can try putting your
systems into the host file (%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts) on
each machine.  Otherwise I can probably add an option to disable reverse
DNS lookups.
