FWIW, I recently picked up a PDA (Palm Tungsten T3) mostly to use as a
bookreader, and have gone on an ebook binge of everything from sf to
fantasy to mysteries to whatever you want to call _Vanity Fair_. Courtesy
of Project Gutenberg, I'm currently halfway through _Dracula_, which is
fantasy, not sf, but what the heck. Seemed appropriate around Halloween.

OK, given that the book's been around for a hundred or so years spoiler
space is probably pretty silly.

But then, I hadn't read it myself until just now.

So what the heck.

See ya on the next page.

I have found one thing amusing thus far - in Stokers day presumably the
biggest hit to the suspension of disbelief would be the vamps. This, of
course, before the ubiquity of the things in fiction of the more recent
era. So for me, it was those four successful blood transfusions Lucy got
from four different people without anybody either noting that each time
there was some significant chance it would kill her (if this is the time
before the discovery of blood types), or else without anybody thinking
about blood types (if it's after), in both cases including a medical
doctor, who was furthermore in love with the patient and presumably cared
about the outcome. Looks like Lucy lucked out bigtime in donors, or had
AB+ blood. For all the good it did her. :(

I'm now halfway through, Lucy's gone from UnDead to DeadDead and Our Heroes
are off after the deadly Count.

Bye!
