The IDE does not shell out to compile. It has the compiler built in,
which is why its such a memory hog. My complaint was when you use the
dos shell from the file menu, it doesn't use a standard dos call to
shell and so programs like shroom can't pick it up and write the ide to
disk. if they are going to do things like that then they should put
the code in there to do it themselves.

Well I like using the ide cause it speeds up debug time, and i'm used
to the editor. if you use qedit then you have to switch back and forth
between pbc and qedit which gets old fast. it just seems as though the
ide could have been written to use memory a little more wisely then
it does. guess Bob isn't running on a networked computer or he would
have fixed the problem long ago when he saw how long it takes to
compile if you don't have much dos memory. eric
