They were pretty much the generic hotrod motor in the mid- '60s. It was
REAL common. I was real rare to have problems with them ....

The destroked 327s were used in a nitro class (unblown). For street use,
nobody ever went that route unless they happened to have the parts
sitting around (why give up the inches ... ?) We routinely bored 265s to
283s and 283s to 301s. And there were a few guys running welded stroker
400 ince 327 (now that was tight .... )
