Yes, it would need to be able to be updated by the user/sysop.  Updating is
easy, but this sort of system would need to ensure it's as streamlined as can
be, managing backing up, as well as doing the actual update.

The real heart of this sort of image will be in the scripts and applications
that configure and maintain the system.
