Hello Robert! 05 Sep 04 13:52, you wrote to me: RC|>> and every single Fidonet sysop takes this echo or took it at the RC|>> time Scott did so? :) RC> Did I say that? Does that preclude his advertising it here? Sorry RC> ... your point is irrelevent. Scope of advertising does not redefine RC> the action. Oh but it does.. The IC echo is not a nodelist, a override list or otherwise. However... Lets look what Scott has a right to do on his system === Cut === alias list="mc" alias d="dir" === Cut === The above is from my .bashrc file, but those running 4DOS, 4NT and 4OS2 have this ability as well. The midnight commander utility I alias to a more familiar command I use, so when I type "list" from a command prompt, midnight commander is invoked.. What if I used the alias command to have on hand a easy command to initiate binkd to poll your system, does it have an adverse affect on you? Grants argument is without merit. DNS simply resolves IP addresses from the names they are asked to resolve, Scotts usage is nothing more than aliasing and I have already shown via traceroutes and otherwise how stupid and immature Grants argument is. Who the hell does Grant think he is to tell people what to do with their computers and how to run them? I setup a copy of simplyDNSplus on my windows laptop, I aliased Mikes domain to one similiar to what Scott is doing.. A. I did not setup my binkd server to use this alias, I continued using his nodelisted info as provided by /him/. B. DNS on port 53, I did not expose PORT 53 on my router, therefore this DNS server can only be accessed from /MY LAN/. He immediately broke his connection with me, the rest you know.. Everything I did had no effect on him, I didnt and no one else could have used the aliasing I setup. Grant is being nothing more than what he does best, a hothead. == Ross ICQ: 5305939 Food For thought: John Kerry Is Not Sargeant York! ...
