Replying to a message from THEODORE NIKODEM 1:123/140 to ALL, About Meat inspection, On Fri Nov 19 2004 TN> Canada reported one case of BSE. The U.S> reported one confirmed TN> case and a SECOND suspected case. Do you suppose the US Dept. of TN> Agriculture will now look for a more global solution? The solution is actually Basic Agriculture, stop feeding cattle cattle, or other meat by products. The on confirmed case the US even found a way to blame a Canadian farm for it sheesh no accountability nor acceptance of blame on the US's part. TN> Will they still continue to try to ban products from outside the US? Come on we are talking the US here, protectionist all the way do not live up to their agreements, NAFTA for example, and the soft wood lumber another. TN> Will they simultaneously whine about other contries not importing TN> beef from the US? Of course. -> But is the Mad Cow crisis over? Those ranchers who can't sell their -> beef in the U.S. might argue that it is still very much with us. Not at all my Sister in law and Brother in law were hit quite hard by this and may never recover. I have cousins in the same boat, it will be with us for years to come. Hope this helps. Keep us posted. We are a fine board trying to make it better. http://www.pris.bc.ca/ghannah ghannah{at}pris.bc.ca Cheers!
