I would like to comment on this further. I love what you said about
bureaucracies established for child abuse having to keep themselves in
a job. This is quite obviously true, but I've never heard it put so
well.
Secondly, I'd like to talk to you about something else - the other
people that are effected. When someone is put in jail falsely, there
family also suffers. When my husband was put in by his ex after
marrying another lady, she came out of remission from leukhemia, which
eventually killed her. Is this coincidence? I don't think so.
I married him almost ten YEARS after he had been imprisoned for six
months for this and then stuck in therapy for some time afterwards -
brainwashing more like - and it causes serious problems for us in the
early days of our relationship. You can believe that this makes a
person suspicious of people and cold, unable to express feelings.
It's not like this man is ever going to be free of it. He was effected
just as badly by being falsely accused as any true survivor of child
abuse was - including PTSD to some extent.
By the way, I studied psychology in college - I am NOT just throwing
these terms around.
As a result I have been effected by his false accusation, as has his
late former wife.
In his brother's case, my brother-in-law's wife lost HER kids too when
DSS took them away before he was ever convicted - and that has changed
her life forever.
So if someone is put in jail or house arrest or whatever for this, it's
not just something that effects only them for a year or five or
whatever.
It effects everyone.
And if the U N convention on the rights of the child, which Bill
Clinton just signed, gets passed by the senate, there is going to be a
lot more of this as parents will be legally forbidden to stop kids from
associating with anyone they please - even fellow gang members . They
will also be allowed to read anything they like - even pornography.
They can also join any religion they want - even Satanism.
It's a truly great bill and will establish an INTERNATIONAL child abuse
bureaucracy much as what you described - one that would find something
to call abuse in almost every family and take our kids out of our
hands.
London is already facing fines in the world court over it and so is
france.
In a way, this may be good. When just about everybody and their
brother are falsely accused of child abuse, maybe people will wake up
and listen.
That may be what it takes.
I get angry about it because as a survivor of some real child abuse -
including some with sexual overtones - I think that all this outcry is
eventually going to make it hard for anyone to believe those of us who
are telling the truth.
