 I like mixing in tracks and loops from someone elses music, having
 not the slightest amount of talant in the fingers department, I can
 still create some pretty cool stuff.

 Check out the http://www.vcdhelp.com/ site, you can find a lot of
 freebie ways to convert avi's to mpeg's.   TMPGEnc comes to mind.
 A 2 gig avi becomes about 60 meg of mpeg.  That is unless your
 using DIV-X codec, where for some unknown reason they generate
 their files with an avi extention when the file is compressed to
 their own version of mpeg-4.
