DA>CO> CM> thanks!...hey what are silvertips?....everytime I go to
>CO> CM> the gunshow I'm bombarded with a miriad of different types
>CO> CM> and calibers of ammunition by a miriad of different
>CO> CM> companies...know anything about shotguns shells?....my
>CO> CM> winchester takes 2 & 3/4 or 3 what is the difference
>CO> CM> between the two besides the length?..
DA>CO>Originally, Silvertip was Winchester's brand name for

>CO>I see now that Winchester (or one of its successors) is
>CO>applying the same honored name to hollow point pistol

DA>I've tested .45acp Silver Tip Hollow Points (STHP) in wet

Just to add my own unscientific test on Saturday, I fired both
a Winchester Silvertip and a Federal Hyda-shock .380's into a dirt bank
at about 6 feet distance and recovered the bullets. Both expanded
into perfect mushroom shapes. The hydr-shock expanded to about
.63 cal and the Silvertip ran nearly .68 cal. Either showed that
they would perform as promised.
