| subject: | The Liard highway |
-=> Quoting Steven Horn to Jim Weller <=- JW> The Fort Liard highway running from Fort Simpson NWT to Fort Nelson SH> I should go. I've always wanted to see the Nahanni region. The road skirts the southern edge of the region. The truly dramatic scenery can only be seen by hikers, canoeists and the rich who charter helicopter flights. And as a world heritage site, admittance is severely restricted. I had the opportunity once to canoe the entire river with a National Film Board crew but turned it down for lack of funds. (I had just graduated from college and my employer wouldn't give me a 6 week unpaid leave of absence - we were building a pipeline, were short staffed and behind schedule.) I've always regretted not doing it though. Cheers Jim, in Yellowknife ... Watching "Wild Kingdom" inspired me to write a cookbook. ___ Blue Wave/386 v2.30 [NR] --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
