The problem is: Even given the fact that Gerard has abandoned development
and does no longer take registrations, such a patch would still be ILLEGAL.
If anybody could get Gerard to just write a single e-mail saying that he
allows the production of such a patch ...

I tried to convince him of this in the most polite words, but did not
receive any answer at all.
