It's possible you have some sort of anomaly with the services you set up for
daemon mode. I would think you need at least one active (I used Ident) and it
wouldn't hurt to double-check others you've activated, or try turning them off
then back on, one by one until and if it works. Just a thought ... I could
never get iRex to run on anything newer than kernel 2.2x as well. :(
