subject: Legality of Commandeering

TR> SK> Now WHAT special place are the cops going...without a
TR> SK> vehicle..that warrants stealing my car? (and I DO agree that the
TR> SK> "have the right" legally to do this) Point is, _I_ will not
TR> SK> submit.
TR>I could cite numerous examples that would make perfect common sense,
And I could counter them with common sense replies.
TR>but I think that I would be wasting my time after reading your entire
TR>message.
Why? I'm a reasonable person. I did say I would drive a person to the
hospital. There is no reason a cop should "steal" my car.
Please do state some reasons why I should not be granted due process
before my property is seized.
TR>There have already been sufficient examples given anyway.
I missed them. I'm new here, kinda. (meaning I didn't read them...or
didn't buy them.)
TR>You have even agreed that the practice is legal, yet you point out
TR>that you will not submit.
Yep. There are plenty of laws I don't agree with.
TR> The jails are full of folks with this mentality.
That much is true. This "land of the free" imprisons more people per
capita than any other country in the world. We surpassed China and
Russian a few years ago.
Of course you must agree that those people deserved to be there too,
right?
TR> I will simply say that commandeering a vehicle is a rare
TR>situation in most jurisdictions, and it involves an extreme
TR>emergency.
Name the emergency. Winchell's only has 2 dozen donuts left? :-P
TR> Odds are this situation would never come up if you lived
TR>10 lifetimes, but who knows. I won't waste my time in furnishing you
TR>any more information on this subject.
That's fine, take the easy way out.
But, I wasn't arguing with you. I just stated, that in effect, I
wouldn't bend to the will of some government authority just because of a
stupid law. I won't allow my car to be used in a chase, for instance, by
some Rambo wanna-be just so he or she could, perhaps, accidentally kill
some innocent bystanders. Cop chases SUCK!
If it were a medical emergency...I'LL drive.

Victim's Right's? Don't seem so.
How about victim's of overzealous cop chases? How about some victim's of
constitutional infringements?
But, I know, you won't waste your time. Figures.
And I'm NOT anti-cop...I'm anti-crazy cop. No chase is worth innocent
peoples lives or constitutional infringements. Even "victim's rights"
don't warrant infringement on civil liberties. It's the midset of some
zealot's that are the REAL danger to lives, liberties, and this very
country. Don't even give me grief because I stand by my
principles...I'll fight and die for them. And I won't whine about paying
a price. Freedom ain't free, buddy.
