| subject: | [F]re[e]basing Your Timezone |
From: "Frank Haber" Two out of three Win 98 machines here refused to register the timezone change even after *two* iterations of 'change timezone, apply, deselect autodaylight checkbox, apply, reselect your_tz, apply/OK, reboot.' I set the time manually, and we'll see what happens in two weeks. One Win2kWS machine here needed the no-autodaylight/apply/reselect' juggle here before a simple tzedit patch of my home tz took. No reboot needed. BTW, Outlook's never been the default mail client on any of these machines. I therefore question the need for reboots. I'm starting to doubt any deterministic quality at all to any of these patches. Maybe you DO need to burn the goat entrails, and apply the $4000. My WFWG 3.31 machine yielded nicely to an application of the resident command TIME at the command prompt. Progress?
