Really. Sometimes the bill for servicing an 'older' model machine can
make the new 'one' purchase reasonable. I've replaced the heating
element  twice. I can hear the roller assembly squeak and the front
door safety switch/cable is broke. Has to be closed with a water key
to hold it closed.  Not bad for a circa 70's Kenmore. It would
still work with
about a $50 investment. But a friend of mine that rents out houses had
a tenent to 'leave' on him and they left a 2004 Kenmore dryer. My expense
is to help him move it to my house.
