| subject: | Re: Vista DRM |
From: "Rich Gauszka" FWIW the DivX people say that they still aren't ready for Vista http://forums.divx.com/forum/viewTopic.php?id=2967 Posted 2 weeks ago (2/07/07 7:52PM PST) We're working on vista folks. We're not ignoring it as much as you think. I believe our new codec, when you install, we're now giving a message that warns you that the software may not work. Along with that we're looking at all of our software products and will have new updates that will help with people who are using vista. I'm sure that my answer won't be sufficient but you should still know it's not like we're sitting on our thumbs and laughing or something strange like that ;-) Also - the next version of Dr. DivX will work in Vista. And, if you find bugs with the new version that are specific to vista you can report them in the Dr. DivX forum. Posted 2 weeks ago (2/07/07 7:52PM PST) Is there an ETA on either the next Vista Compatible DivX or Dr. DivX release? An exact date isn't necessary, just an approximation. (I.E. Sometime this month, sometime in March, sometime this summer) In reply to chaosrain, #9: I don't have any ETA for you on DivX but I do for Dr. DivX. As posted here forums.divx.com/forum/viewTopic.php?id=3235 the new one will be out in the "next few days" "Geo." wrote in message news:45dc2423{at}w3.nls.net... > "Rich Gauszka" wrote in message > news:45dbd06f$1{at}w3.nls.net... > >> That means Vista will allow users to play high-definition DVDs, but they >> will have to plug in a player from Cybermedia, Innervideo or some other >> manufacturer to do it.
