That original shuttle test airframe *was* named Constitution.  It was
announced pubicly and NASA thought that was that.
We Star Trek fans campaigned to *rename* the shuttle Enterprise, not to
put the name Enterprise on it as the original name.  It is a subtle
distinction, but the campaign was to rename it.
