It's possible but I ran NT4 back when exploits would come out and MS would
release a patch within a couple days to a week tops. Trust me when I tell
you they can patch an exploit in a week and do it with a solid patch.
I used to test some of the patches, even the first versions were mostly
safe. The danger came with service packs that had hundreds of fixes, you
never knew how making so many changes all at once would affect everything
you use the machines for. Separate zero day exploit patches were always far
safer.
