I'm still trying to figure out the need for keying the radio directly as you
turn it on... Most hams will turn the transciever on, tune around for a
while, and listen here and there, then if they decide to transmit to someone
calling CQ, or someone they know, THEN they'll throw the transciever in the
XMIT position... and that's normally after 10 to 15 mins of tuning...
Cuts don't on a LOT of QRM that way
