Hallo Anthony!

Guess what the "TE" in "Msged/2 TE" stands for :-). In
the meantime I have written much more code for Msged than I have written
for Timed ... (Actually, I have not written any big amount of Timed at all,
but those few binary bytes that I and Wilfried hacked for Timed of course
did cost much more time than quite some thousand lines for Msged ...)

I first got involved with Msged when I wanted to build a point package for new
users of my system that should consist entirely of Freeware, i.E. software
that the point did not have to pay for. Msged was the only working free editor
for OS/2 that I found, so I took it. This was about at the same time when I
started to work on the Timed patch. As time passed on, it turned out that
Msged lacked some crucial features that my users needed (like Fidogate support
and Charset Kludge), so I implemented them. While implementing, I noticed that
the code of Msged was really nice and structured, and that it could easily
(well, I thought it would be easy at THAT time ...) be ported to platforms
which Timed did not exist for, like Linux, other Unix systems and (also I
don't care for that) Win32. So I started to do quite some work on the code,
and as it turned out, I am now the primary maintainer of Msged ... :-).

I still continue to support the Timed patch as most work on it has already
been done, and of course I will continue to work on the Netmgr patch as my
system crucially depends on Netmgr. So even if I don't use Timed anymore
for myself, it still helped me because I learnt a lot about Gerards code
that also helps me in fixing Netmgr.

Viele Gre,
Tobias
