I've heard different things on this subject and am looking for a FAQ
or perhaps a book on the topic. I've installed GCC and used it to
compile programs under Solaris without any problems. I generally
use '-O2' for optimization.

What sort of Solaris specific flags can I drop into a Makefile to make
things run better? Are there any flags for optimizing it for an Ultra
CPU?

I'm not a programmer but I'm putting together a set of pkg files for
Solaris and went the most efficient programs possible.
