-> Yokosuka, Rob was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Providence which was
-> home-ported there from Nov 1966 to Nov 1968.
We we in Misawa. It was terrific there. Thurs mornings the housekeeper
came in, we had a cup of coffee, I went to the commissary and then went
to the ceramic shop or to class. The commmissary delivered my groceries
to my house and when I got home my house was clean, my groceries put
away, the laundry and ironing done, the kids clean and happy, and dinner
cooked. All that for less than $15.
I took several ceramic classes and painting classes as well as anything
fun that came up.
-> I did get a good Origami book while I was there, and for Christmas
-> bought the same book in soft cover ($24.00) for sil. Now I need to
-> find someone stationed in Japan to get a good supply of paper for me.
-> I found another good book for him for his BD in June. I told him
-> that to become a Master, he had to be able to make the crane out of a
-> 1" square of paper.
I've found paper several places around here. It makes an excuse to go
to Little Tokyo too. I'm going to my favorite bead store at the end of
March beginning of April in San Francisco if you want me to get you
some.
