My point was just that large classes were hardly something caused by poor
school districts whose poor residents couldn't afford small classes, and that
high school taxes were no guarantee of small classes.

The school district I mentioned had a reputation as one of the best in
its metro area. It was awash in classroom and other equipment, and paid
teachers very well...but that and high taxes didn't mean small classes.
