Hi Steve,
In a message dated 1-Jan-1998 16:37:16,
Steve Batson wibbled about /Delphi/ /to/ /write/ /Emualtor/ to All,
SB> I have a question about Delphi's Suitability to write a computer
SB> emuator. Any idea if Delphi 3 would be up to the task (I tend to
SB> think it would)?
I have seen one or two emulators written in Borland Pascal so it should be
okay.
SB> I was thinking that using Delphi 3 and DirectX would allow some
SB> nice windows based emulators to be written.
The problem with emulators that run in a window are that they slow in
my experience - full screen character applications wiz along by comparison.
An option to switch between the 2 different styles would be nice so that
when a PC is fast enough to run the emulator as a window (which ultimately
it will be able to) people can.
SB> I think it would quite a learning exercise to write an emulator.
Good luck.
Bye,
