exclaimed:

     Actually all I needed was to see if my test message got deposited 
in the correct conference.  Once I was assured that it had I uploaded my 
backlog.  BTW I'm pretty sure it was 26 messages in total, I wonder 
which one went *poof*?

     A Pollard Manoeuvre is a group of 40+ messages from one person in a 
row.  Mine was a mini-Pollard Manoeuvre, containing 20-40 messages, Evil 
variant, consisting of replies to messages greater than one month (in 
this case three-four months old).  There are other variations on this 
theme...
