Hi,
Sun conures can be loud thats for sure. I've wanted a cockatoo for a
long time as well. Ever since the tv show baretta, but my chronic
bronchitus would be triggered very quickly. One of my other choices is a
BG macaw. I started saving the money for one years ago but everytime I
got close the price was increased by $400.00. I've never been sorry for
getting the conure even with his screaming fits. He seems to know when
to stop and do something funny instead.
His name is (don't laugh, I didn't name him) Sunny and he's almost 2
years old. He completely has his adult coloration now. The wide green
areas on his wings has been lost and replaced by a wide yellow area. His
vocabulary has grown considerably. I was living at Mitch's when I first
got him and the first word he picked up was the foul four letter one
that was being readily used as we worked on the network. One bad network
cable was crashing the entire system. So Sunny got to hear this word in
all of its many forms. He regularly uses them all. He already knew and
said his name when I bought him at 3 months of age. I'm averaging a new
word or phrase with him about every two weeks or so. Then theres also
the assortment of sounds that he does. None of which can be identifyed
but he seems to like them. The only thing he seems dead set against
trying is whistling.
BTW I have a bunch of bird reciepes. If your interested let me know and
I'll figure out a way to get them to you. I guess the easiest way is to
put the zip file on the board. Do you still call GA?
