-> Thank you very much for responding. Today is only my fifth day, but
-> I really have to quit for good.
But again, TRY TO THINK OF IT AS ONE DAY AT A TIME, not forever.
Paradoxically enough, longterm *resolutions* can really mess you up when
it comes to achieving longterm *abstinence*. We AAs don't promise to
give booze up forever, we just give it up for today. I've been giving
it up "for today" for nine straight years now, whereas back when I used
to make longterm promises, I couldn't go longer than six days.
-> side effects are awful. I will take your advice and drink gallons
-> of water.
Well, not literally gallons :)...that would screw up your electrolytes.
And the water suggestion wasn't from me anyway. But taking care of your
health right now is a good idea. Enough water, enough sleep, good
healthy food and a daily multivitamin (no megadoses, just a
One-A-Day or Centrum or something similar) sure won't hurt.
-> Today I went on a cleaning frenzy and felt better.
Right. Staying busy will help. So will mild exercise. (Note, I said
"mild"--don't go kill yourself. )
