Additional data point...
After removing Norton from ALL of our office machines, and going with AVG,
NOBODY complains about lost/missing messages (and they did randomly).
Why not TRY it without Norton? Uninstall it, and install the AVG Free
version and run that way for awhile, and see if the problem goes away?
Seems like a pro-active solution, to me, will give you a better handle on
where the problem is, for sure.
