subject: Filter Cap values in R-4 ?

BL> What do you think about the power ratings ? Should I go up

BL> Voltages in the PS curcuit is 150-180 VDC.
The voltage is going to remain constant, and you'd probably do well to
overexceed the ratings of the powersupply voltage.
Therefore, for 150-180VDC, an electrolytic with around 300WVDC should
ffice.
BL> Must be a thou... 100cm per meter, 10mm per 1cm
I never did learn the metric system, but I do agree that it sounds corny as
all get-out to listen on the Ham freqs to someone complain about the Metric
system, then later in the QSO, be asked what band they were going to be on,
and the answer, invariably, is always something with a Metric relationship
(ie: 40 METERS, 75 METERS, etc... ;-> )
Thanks for the correction, though.
BL> OK You Ol' Phart! Actually according to QRZ, you're
BL> a couple years my junior, so I guess I'd better take it easy :)
:-) Need to look that up.
Are we talking years old, or years on the air? Being raised around HAM
radio, I could say that my time on the air, started back in 1958, when I
first arrived on the scene ;-)
BL> Not EVEN with an RME would I have THAT much room .
I'd like somewhere to find a B&W 5100, if one did exist...
Speaking of old rigs and such, if you can find a source for those, you might
be able to find the capacitors needed for your Drake line!
BL> Since I figure they are ALL getting fairly dry, I thought I'd
BL> just GA and replace them all now and perhaps negate problems
BL> later on... ;)
Good shotgun approach, for older rigs that used tubular and paper-capacitors.
Best of luck in the restoration process!
