Ryan, sometimes you make valid points, even within the "ravings." Try
understanding that supply and demand is the biggest tyrant since the
beginning of time. You forgot mineworkers, BTW.
There's more than one generation of careers shot down the tubes...
lets mourn for the Blacksmiths while we're at it, or saddlemakers.
Airlines no longer employ Navigators... I learned this when I found
out a friend who drove cab with me was laid off from British Airways
at the age of 40ish and all he could do to support himself was hack.
We're even losing Draftsmen... which used to be a good paying job.
AutoCad programs have eliminated the need for most of them.
I could go on all day but the point I'm trying to make is: there's no
bad guy in this. If there's a need, people will fill it... no need and
they'd better retrain. If you had a tile roof on your house w/plastic
siding... and plastic trim... you wouldn't need to hire a painter,
right?
