-> Mine will "Step up" like a parrot, but is not really 'happy' about
-> it. I pick him up and handle him a little every day and he doesn't
-> struggle, but he will fly away (Generally goes to his cage) if I let
-> him sit on my palm. He loves to get on the bathroom floor and stalk
-> around in the bath-mat looking for maize seeds he's thrown out of his
-> cage. Sometimes he laughs when I chase him around on the bathroom
-> floor.
Do you think the kind of Dove makes a difference in tameness? I was
looking at some little hand-fed Diamond Doves. Do you think they would
be any tamer? Something that really upsets me is a story I heard about
some local Dove breeder that sells bunches of Doves to people to release
into the air at weddings and other events. I cannot understand how this
can be legal. I get a little sick every time I think of it. Do you
think they can survive after that? I sure hope so.
-> We feed all the wild birds, and have a back yard full. Alas we're
-> about to lose a lot of our habitat to a giant subdivision. Three
-> different species of hawk are gonna be displaced.
That's too bad...humans are the most ego-centric, self-centered
parasites on Mother Earth. Humans do not know how to live in peace,
harmony, and balance. I just hope they wake-up before it's too late.
Peace and Blessings,
Elaine
