Yea.. Hell and back includes tough use in Search And Rescue, unintended
diving, rock climbing, numerous burials, numerous (!) impacts that would kill
most elec & tron devices, continuous rain exposure (we DO live in Washington)
Radio Shack never listed this device as being either water or contaminant
resistant (dirt & other gunk), but I will tell you now that with ALL of the
described activities and MORE, there has been ZERO amount of ANYTHING
ntering
the unit.
RS, AFAIAC, has ALWAYS been a (unintended?) source of TOUGH products, along
with a MFJ-284 speaker/mike that is just as tough as the 202
FWIW, being ex military & exFF/EMTD, this radio could very well rate the
Military Standard that some of Yeasu's Handhelds have! the 202 doesnt have a
lot, but what it does have, it does VERY well!!!
  Enjoy, 73
