Ok. I was actually thinking of internal firewalls on the 6509 and eOn
router. That does seem unlikely given that you can connect from your
desktop.

The business of using the router's IP address seems like it could cause
problems, but I don't know enough about the setup to offer any more
suggestions other than to get a packet trace to see exactly what's going
where.
