It's because of stupid idiots in marketing departments thinking of names
that are not names and cannot be searched in any meaningful way. If you put
".net" as a search term, well, it's a domain extension so it's
almost impossible to give any rational results. Then you're left with
"asp", which - surprise surprise - is a file name extension, so
the "results" for it would be just about every asp file.
Try searching for: "asp.net" programming - with quotes around
"asp.net" and programming as another word. I got just under 10
million hits with that - though I don't know if that helps or makes it
worse ;-)
