No, it's myopic. "My father this" and "My father that" and "This is
the way we do it in North Carolina, so that's the end of that". Try to
get out more, Matt. It's a big world out there, and I'd be surprised
if any two states or provinces in all of North America (to say nothing
of the rest of the world) have identical educational systems and their
attendant problems. What you're doing is extrapolating and generalizing
from a very small set of data, a total population of about 7 million
compared with about 400 million in all of North America -- less than 2%.
Actually, calling it "ignorance" is too complimentary.
