Many people think God was kidding, but the time has arrived when there
is the means (VeriChip and the like) and the motive (homeland security,
secure e-commerce etc) to link buying & selling with a mark. Whether
VeriChip will be the mark is still unknown; it may be that a refined
version with more unique numbers, perhaps even with IPV6 addresses
& enhanced "features" will be used.

The goal is "ubiquitous computing", with every device & thing to have
its own IP address & to interact seamlessly. Step out of line, & it
becomes very easy to block a person's unique address & bar access to
all goods & services.
