-> TW> BUT for Coordinated areas 500 Khz is the Recommended split.
-> Tom-
-> Going back several years, a 1 MHz offset was a defacto standard, and
-> was the default supplied in many rigs. I don't know what it is in
-> the latest gear, however. When the band is open, I find that many
-> repeaters from around the country, are still using a 1 MHz offset.
-> Here in Florida, the Coordinated offset is -1 MHz for outputs above
-> 53 MHz, and -500 KHz for outputs below 52 MHz. ARRL's Repeater
-> Directory recommends three groups of repeater frequencies, each with
-> the -500 KHz offset. However, the overwhelming majority of
-> repeaters they list, follow
-> the same plan as Florida. California is the only significant case
-> where the ARRL 500 KHz plan is actually in place.
I happen to be in Califronia. But All this is still missing my point.
NO matter what the Split is, Ideal or Otherwise, YOU need a 2 meter rig
with Setabl;e split capabilities to use the Ten-Tec in Repeater service
on 6 meters. NOT one like my old Kenwood with FIXED + or - 600 KHZ only.
