Hey, Chris Nold! Remember the message about Re: Unions?
You said to Tom Patierno on 20 Sep 96 00:19:49...

Connecticut. The Union that has EMS representing it, with the State
Employees, is Health Care District 1199/SEIU-(Service Employees International
Union). The other "big" union that represents EMS workers (NYC EMS, for
instance) is IAFF, by default. IAFF represents the EMS workers -only-
ecause
they are under the Fire Department. If you're interested in representation
of all health care workers, 1199 is the way to go. If you're looking for
representation of EMS workers as Public Safety employees, IAFF is the way to
go.
The important thing is to be represented by individuals interested in the
workers. Nearly all ambulance companies that take in income are represented
by the American Ambulance Association. Unfortunately, this is a Union for
Ambulance owners, NOT for workers.

Tom Patierno
