Hi Ruth,
RH> SL> Provo is about an hour drive. I am not sure of the mileage. With
he
RH>Sounds about as far as from here to Tucson. It's 75 road miles but for
RH>30 you can only go 55 and the other 40 is Interstate, mostly 75. But
I15 is the main road running north and south through Utah. Goes right
through Salt Lake Valley and Utah Valley (Provo/Orem). We don't have a
good alternate route. In April, the section of I15 in Salt Lake Valley
will be under construction for about 5 years. All other alternate
routes (pitiful as they are) will also be redone at the same time. What
wonderful planning by our governer and legislature. They knew that this
was needed 10 years ago, and are just now getting things together.
Unfortunatly, they haven't a clue as to how to finance the
reconstruction. Should have already been planned out. Now they are
trying to cut everything in the budget (except their salaries) from low
income housing to education and health care to pay for it.
RH>Winter Ball & wanted a new dress. Actually made a trip without going
RH>into a fabric store. Steve sounds like your husband; he would stay
Now that is a novelty! After not buying any fabric for 4 months, I have
more than made up for it! A couple of the quilt shops had $1.00 a yard
sales, and I couldn't pass that up. Another shop, Morman Handicraft, is
going to have to move to a new location (LDS church is going to build on
their block), so they have been cleaning out their supplies because they
don't know if they will have as large a location as they do now. I
haven't been there yet, but women in my quilt group have and said it is
worth the trip downtown. Lots of stuff at 75% off, and a lot more at
60% off. And everything else at 20% off. I am trying to limit my
fabric purchases to only those fabrics that I have a specific project in
mind. I am trying not to buy fabric just because I love the print. I
have to have an idea, need something to finish a UFO, find a backing for
a UFO, or a new project jumps into my minds eye when I see it.
Hopefully, that will end my reckless fabric purchases.
RH>One of these days I may start entering that exchange. I've got a fair
RH>sized stash of smaller pieces now that I can draw from. I doubt it
RH>would be until this fall however with all the sewing I've got to do this
I like the exchanges for something to piece when I just GOTTA PIECE! I
think that if you need a break from the wedding sewing, you could whip
up a block and not join the exchange. Just ask not to be included for
the drawing. I am sure that the winner wouldn't mind one more block. :)
RH>work on. After I get the 3 bridesmaid's dresses cut out, I'll put each
RH>of them in their own bag. The key to this whole thing is organisation!
I am not that organized. I wish that I were, and I try to do better,
but lose track of my plans. I had cleaned off my cutting table last
week, and it needs it again.
