Probably true.
However, so long as the UI does not indicate the presence of that process,
(how often does a user look in the task manager to see if the email client
has fully shut down?), it's yet another symptom of the sloppy programming
that I am seeing in this recent version of MS Office compared to the MS
Office '97 that I "upgraded" from.
