ET-> First congratulations on getting a green cheek, I have two their
ET-> great little birds. Mine are like that too, but not to the point
ET-> where they'll break the skin, it's more of a playful thing. I know
ET-> mine love to have their beak and head rubbed.
ETThank-you. I love my little guy, nippy and all. He never breaks the skin
ETeither. He also loves head, neck, and beak rubs.
Hi Elaine,
I think I told ya awhile ago that I have a sun conure. Everything
you've said in description of your green cheek applies to my sun as
well. The nips are basically their way of touching and making contact
with us. As long as they aren't done with anger and believe me you'll
know if one is done in anger. Those little beaks have some power behind
them. Trust me I know. I have the metal grate on the bottom of the
cage removed so that Sunny can run around under the paper and make a
tent in one side of his cage. Funniest thing to watch. He also laughs
his butt off while he's doing this. I guess he just heard all of us.
As for sleeping on his back, I know he used to do this but has
stopped. He does take a nap on his back in my hand from time to time
though. They are by far the most comical little acrobatic birds I've
ever seen.
