Hi Everyone!
I'm happy to be able to write this addition to the message
I wrote last week telling you of my poor ole bod's lousy
condition!  hehe
The reason for the swelling in my feet, and particularly
the left one, has been discovered and taken care of.  It
seems that last month when the kidney doctor gave me a new
Rx for my blood pressure, it was supposed to be taken as a
*supplement* to my old one, and not a *replacement* as I
had thought the doctor indicated to me.   The old one has
a mild diuretic in it but the new one has none.  I thought
(and even asked the doctor--don't know where his head was)!
this meant I would be getting *no* diuretic at all, and I
was concerned about that.  I brought it up twice...and he
said, "Well, you don't need any more diuretic."  I thought
this meant I didn't need any at all, any more.  He thought
I understood that with the old b/p med I was getting enough!
At any rate I'm now on both meds and doing OK although it
still seems I'm a bit swollen.  Y'all, I could have died
from stopping that medication!  It's a beta blocker and the
new one is not.  No wonder I felt so lousy!
I'm ticked off about this because not only could I have 
assumed, permanently, the temperature of the air around me,
but since I didn't, but went to the doctor and had to have
an ultrasound scan to determine if there was a blood clot
in a leg vein, I am now out $52.00 for a doctor's office
visit, $200.00 for the scan and however much the radiologist
charges to read the scan, which we must pay for because we
don't have insurance.    Tom's not happy about this,
as he feels the kidney doctor should have been more specific
about this new medication.  I'm not happy about it because
I feel the same way!
On the other hand, I'm alive and doing better every day and
my back is finally starting to feel better.  I'm able to sit
here a bit longer so maybe I'll even get some messages done.
I even managed to cook a couple of decent dinners this week
and get a few errands run yesterday, and now there is a big
pile of laundry to be done and dishes that need washing, so
I have my work cut out for me!
Thanks for all your care and concern for me, and for letting
me vent my spleen about this medication mix-up!
