Hi, Joacim Melin!
I read your message from 06.01.2018 12:22

We know Moon's surface better than Earth's ocean floor. IMHO, the
scientists still cannot calculate accurately the amount of warmth that
gets into the ocean water during multiple underwater tectonic events. We
just don't see most of them. It is Terra Incognita for us. The amount of
warmth that is emitted into the water during such events is huge. So,
the climate, very probably, depends highly on the tectonic activity of
Earth. We absolutely cannot predict this activity. We don't know for
sure what is going on inside the planet. And, because of that, the Earth
can get warmer, becomes frozen etc.

The ice period IMHO begins like this -- we have more clouds that bar the
Sun from Earth's surface. The Earth inside got active, but outside can
be an ice period.

There were many ice periods -- the latest ice period coincides with the
great seismic activity that had happened around 14000 years ago. It was
the time when clouds had covered almost all the Earth sky. The ice
period falls suddenly -- the circumstance of mammoth death shows that it
happened suddenly, and they froze.

What do we need for ending an ice period? It is a low seismic activity
and as a result a clear, hot sunny skies! ;-) BTW, such things as the
Grand Canyon appear just during such nice springs.

Bye, Joacim!
