ML> JM> A catfish is not needed in such a small tank as cleaning up any

Since oscars can grow to over 10" long, you need a catfish that also
can grow to a large enough size, so the oscar doesn't try to eat it.
A common pleco is one such catfish. It does a good job of cleaning algae
off the glass and things and also will eat food on the bottom. Most
corys wont do, since oscars have been known to die with them stuck in
their mouths.
ML> JM> "overfeeding the fish". Fish will only eat until they are full,so
ML> JM> it is basically impossible to overfeed a fish (there are a few
ML> JM> species that will overeat).
ML> does an OSCAR fall into this catagory?
Yes, they are messy eaters and I've seen them eat until they were ready
to burst and still fill there mouths with more food, that they usually
end up spitting out, after they chewed it up.
ML> you notice my questions are all pertaining to OSCARs... i posted a

response

any

I answered a message about oscars, about a week ago. If you can't find
it, let me know what you need to know and I'll try to answer.
BTW - T.F.H Publications, puts out a very good handbook on oscars,
called Oscars by Neal Pronek. It goes for about $6.00 in the mail
catalogs. 96 pages and covers just about all you need to know.
