The point I was trying to make, I guess, is that there is a
cost/effectiveness breaking point. Certainly I'm all for getting kids to
be more enthusiastic. (BTW, how many computers did you have in your
classroom? Two? Four?) If someone is donating the computers, I'd take
them. Free is the right price. If they are $500 to $1000 and you can
somehow manage to buy a few of them out of your budget, and you think
they will be more effective than whatever else you might have spent that
same money on, then OK. The question, I guess, is what MIGHT you have
done with that money which was spent on computers, and would it possibly
have been as effective (or even more effective) than the computers, or
not?
