I think I know what you're talking about, and no, we used no "filter"-style
effects of any kind in any level.  What I think you're referring to is the
solo bass line that starts that level.  What I used there were multiple
versions of what started life as a single sample.  The versions had been
passed through different cut-off filters to change their sound, and I and
triggered in an order to make them sound like someone was twisting a
cut-off knob down, then back up again on a single sample.
Is this what you were referring to?
